Specialties:

Evie specializes in assisting new parents as they navigate the complexities of parenthood, providing guidance and support during this transformative life stage. She recognizes that the transition to parenthood can evoke feelings of loss and longing for the past, while also presenting challenges in maintaining quality time with both your partner and yourself.

Evie offers a compassionate and understanding space to explore these challenging emotions and develop strategies for prioritizing self-care and nurturing your relationship with your partner. Through thoughtful guidance and evidence-based practices, she can help you navigate the complexities of new parenthood, fostering resilience, emotional well-being, and healthy family dynamics. Evie helps clients and couples find meaning, make positive changes, and build stronger connections in their lives. Honesty and safety are at the forefront of a strong therapeutic relationship, and Evie creates a space where clients can comfortably explore and learn more about themselves. Evie’s areas of focus include anxiety, depression, new parents, grief, time management, life transitions, and sleep challenges. We may think about how difficulty sleeping can stem from racing thoughts that prevent a calm state of mind and how to create calming routines before bed.

Clinical Style and Theoretical Orientation:

Evie works collaboratively with clients, guiding them to discover their own insights and solutions. She helps clients identify their values and explore their ambivalence toward change. Mindfulness practices are incorporated to enhance present moment awareness and reduce anxiety through deep breathing, meditation, and connecting with inner wisdom. Evie supports clients in exploring how past experiences, especially early childhood, shape current patterns and behaviors. This exploration helps bring unconscious thoughts and feelings to light, fostering deeper self-understanding and lasting change.

Personal Interests:

Outside of her work as a therapist, Evie prioritizes family time, often arranging playdates for her 3-year-old and another family so everyone can socialize. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband when they have the opportunity. To stay creative and challenge herself, Evie participates in improv classes, which she finds to be a great way to step out of her comfort zone and embrace being playful.
