Anxiety comes in many shapes and sizes. It can express itself through physical symptoms, like fast heart rate or rapid breathing; or by excessive worry and fear. Or both! The good news is that not all anxiety is bad. At its core, anxiety is in our bodies reaction to a perceived threat or stress. People who struggle with anxiety disorders can experience these symptoms more often or at higher levels than others. Anxiety can be isolating. It can interfere with daily functioning, as well as relationships and work performance.
At Refresh, we specialize in working with those struggling with anxiety. Our clinicians are experienced in treating these symptoms through a variety of therapies, including CBT, Mindfulness, group therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. We focus on the individual to create collaborative treatment plans that can ease anxiety symptoms and improve functioning.
