Bree grew up in the Southern United States and has lived in New York City for over a decade. Before joining Refresh, Bree led community-based mental health programs serving the persistently and severely mentally ill population in NYC. Bree also has experience as a career coach and learning facilitator. She received her MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work.
Bree specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, sex workers, people living with HIV or other chronic illnesses, and people who use drugs. She is particularly interested in treating folks confronting depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use, self-harm, religious trauma, and relationship issues.
Bree aims to provide gender-affirming, culturally humble, and trauma-informed care. Using a relational approach. Bree tailors her work to each client’s needs. Bree utilizes many techniques to help clients better understand their unconscious, which influences emotions and behaviors; additionally, she empowers clients to question and reframe their thoughts and actions to improve communication and the quality of their relationships, benefiting all aspects of their lives.
Bree identifies as Southern and queer. In her free time, Bree enjoys cooking, jogging, playing cards with her partner, and caring for her pets. Bree loves to ride her bike around NYC. In the summertime, she enjoys sunning in the Rockaways. She loves trying new restaurants and attending live theater and music.
