Specialties:

I partner with individuals navigating emotional distress, negative thinking, or unwanted behaviors. These struggles often stem from early childhood trauma, intergenerational trauma, chronic and toxic stress, environmental pressures, or acute traumatic experiences. It might look like trouble with coping, identity crisis, consistent and uncontrollable worry and fear, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness, new or recurring harmful behaviors, difficulty navigating conflict, or challenges in interpersonal relationships.

My specialty is rooted in training and experience with perfectionist-driven childhood expectations, unresolved grief and trauma, shame-inducing adult figures, and abusive interpersonal relationships. These issues are often seen in disordered eating, substance abuse, high-functioning anxiety and depression, marital and relationship conflict, low self-esteem, and self-harming tendencies.

Clinical Style and Theoretical Orientation:

I aim to bring both clinical depth and creative insight into my practice. I am particularly skilled at helping clients build self-awareness, strengthen emotion regulation, heal from trauma, and develop tools for personal growth and resilience. I hope to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to overcome internal and external obstacles. My ability to foster a strong therapeutic relationship through transparent communication and unconditional positive regard allows my clients to engage deeply in the work.

My primary goal is to foster a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I utilize reflective language, active and empathic listening, keen observation, informed prompting, psychoeducation, and enthusiastic acknowledgment to help clients understand their own needs, desires, and emotions. I want to meet each client where they are, developing treatment plans collaboratively and flexibly.

My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based modalities – including Shame-Informed Treatment, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy – with a mindfulness-informed and insight-oriented framework.

  • Shame-Informed Treatment focuses on uncovering shame responses and discovering the authentic self.
  • TF-CBT is a more structured modality that addresses specific challenges related to traumatic experiences.
  • Motivational Interviewing is a therapeutic style that focuses on collaboration with the client, exploring the client’s reasons for change rather than telling them what to do.
  • Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy explores how past experiences and unconscious processes affect the client’s present-day, while emphasizing the therapeutic relationship and interpersonal dynamics.

Ultimately, my therapeutic framework encourages non-judgemental acceptance and present moment awareness, while seeking to understand past experiences and identify patterns.
