Anxiety comes in many shapes and sizes. It can express itself through physical symptoms, like fast heart rate or rapid breathing; or by excessive worry and fear. Or both! The good news is that not all anxiety is bad. At its core, anxiety is in our bodies reaction to a perceived threat or stress. People who struggle with anxiety disorders can experience these symptoms more often or at higher levels than others. Anxiety can be isolating. It can interfere with daily functioning, as well as relationships and work performance.

Our clinicians are experienced in treating these symptoms through a variety of therapies, including CBT, Mindfulness, group therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. We focus on the individual to create collaborative treatment plans that can ease anxiety symptoms and improve functioning.
We specialize in Depressive Disorders because we are aware of the silent suffering that happens when depression occurs. The sadness that comes with Depression can be isolating. It can also be exhausting, overwhelming, and a laundry list of other feelings; daily activities that were once came with ease can become a challenge. At Refresh Psychotherapy, we understand this and will work with you to understand your depression and treat it according to your unique experience. Our clinicians use individual treatment plans, pulling from various therapeutic modalities, to find your best path to healing.
Trauma has a unique effect on all that experience it. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) occurs when the recovery from the trauma lasts more than a few months and begins to cause problems in daily life. PTSD can cause intrusive thoughts and negative thoughts. Treatments for PTSD include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Talk Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. Our clinicians will work with you to reduce PTSD symptoms and identify emotions surrounding the experienced trauma.
