My name is Em Riveles and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Refresh Psychotherapy. I am excited to announce that Refresh Psychotherapy will be offering Sorting Sexuality – Part 2, a continuation of a psychotherapy group that will support individuals within the non-binary and transgender identity spectrums in exploring sexuality. The group will run for 6 weeks, beginning on Tuesday, September 13 and ending on Tuesday, October 18 2022. The group will be facilitated virtually and is open to all.
Sexuality is composed of many factors, and is often impacted by earlier life experiences, values that we are exposed to, and societal norms. This can be complicated for people within the non-binary and transgender identity spectrums due to the intersections that these identities may have with culture, background, and history. There may come a time in our lives where we seek to better understand how we relate to our own sexuality, as well as how we can approach sexual engagement with others; one way to do this, can be through a self-exploration journey around these topics.
With this group, participants will continue to build upon themes related to sexuality including intimacy, communication, relational health and more. Through use of activities and group dialogue, members will will explore patterns they may experience that impact relational health, and consider roots of those patterns in order to consider ways in which they can increase satisfaction with sexual and relational engagements. Through Sorting Sexuality – Part 2, group members will have the opportunity to discuss these themes in a safe space with peers who may share similar experiences.
If you feel that part 2 of Sorting Sexuality is a group that will be a good fit for your needs, feel free to reach out so we can schedule a brief consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
