My name is Iyesha Gatling and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Refresh Psychotherapy. I am elated to announce that I will be facilitating a group called Normalizing Ownership: Reimagining your time, space, and your boundaries. This is an 8-week group, held on Thursdays starting on October 20, from 7-8 pm. This group will be held, virtually.
Boundaries are an important factor in our lives as they support the alignment of our values, thoughts, and feelings. There are times when boundaries can feel like rejection, denial, and bring feelings of guilt and shame. Oftentimes, these feelings are associated with the word “NO”.
During the ebbs and flow of life, we may experience times where people invade our privacy, misuse our time, or aren’t considerate of our desires, leaving us to decide whether we should speak up and express our needs.
During Normalizing Ownership, participants will be able to create and explore their boundaries and uphold their NO’s. Participants will also be able to reimagine the word “NO” and identify ways employing boundaries will increase confidence within themselves and the change their approach within external relationships. This group will look at limits to expression involving how members view their boundaries within romance, work, family, and friendships. This will occur through the use of discussion and activities such as scenarios and worksheets.
If you are interested in exploring your NO’s and creating boundaries, please feel free to reach out to schedule a 10-minute consultation. I look forward to speaking with you!
